Inclusive Democracy

Democracy can be a path to achieving prosperity when the process strikes a balance between procedural and deliberative elements.

Since 2000, KEMITRAAN has promoted the implementation of inclusive democracy by contributing to the strengthening of free and fair electoral mechanisms and emphasizing citizen participation through deliberation and public discussion in development efforts from the national to the village level.

Inclusive democracy involves every governance actor, including government, civil society, and the business world. This includes building their capacity so that collaborative initiatives are continuously optimized to ensure that no one is left behind in the nation’s development process.

The quality of public participation in democracy can be seen in:

  • a transparent and accountable political party,
  • The electoral system produces qualified leaders,
  • Autonomy is the solution to regional issues,
  • better public services,
  • Civil society organizations (CSOs) function effectively, and the business sector is accountable.
