Legal and Judicial Reform
Strong legal and judicial institutions are crucial in ensuring that the law reigns supreme in a democratic nation. Institutions refer not only to organizations but also to the rules governing the relationships among the various elements of society within a nation across various aspects of life, including economic, political, and social spheres, as well as legislation.
In addition to justice, legal certainty is also linked to development—including economic development—because it is a prerequisite for creating a business ecosystem that is safe and profitable for both entrepreneurs and workers, and for ensuring that the process is sustainable and does not violate human rights or other ecosystems. Therefore, the implementation of the law requires support from law enforcement agencies (APH), as well as a transparent and accountable judicial system to ensure not only fairness but also impartiality.
KEMITRAAN consistently advocates for the strengthening of legal and judicial reforms as part of its efforts to support the improvement of a more professional and fair legal and judicial system—free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism (KKN)—that upholds human rights, and does not tolerate conflicts of interest in governance. This includes regulatory reform, improving access to justice, strengthening legal and judicial institutions, and ensuring that the law is applied equally and impartially.
