GREEN CLIMATE

Fund

Since the signing of the Paris Agreement in 2015, Indonesia has been nationally committed to contributing to the reduction of global emissions. This commitment, outlined in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), has been ratified to achieve an emissions reduction of 31% through own efforts and 43.2% with international support.

In 2007, The Adaptation Fund (AF), a multilateral climate financing scheme focused on adaptation issues, was launched with the goal of funding climate change adaptation programs in developing countries that are members of the Kyoto Protocol.

Following the AF, another financing scheme within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) was inaugurated in 2010, known as the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

KEMITRAAN is currently the only National Implementing Entity (NIE) for the AF, through an accreditation process officially approved on March 18, 2016. Five years later, KEMITRAAN officially became one of the Accredited Entities / Direct Access Entities for GCF funding, specifically on July 27, 2021.
