Background
The second phase of the Enhancing Access to Benefits while Lowering Emissions (EnABLE) project aims to strengthen the inclusion of marginalized and vulnerable groups within the East Kalimantan Emission Reduction Program. This effort is carried out by increasing awareness of and access to both carbon and non-carbon benefits, in line with the Benefit Sharing Plan under the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) framework.
To support these objectives, Kemitraan is seeking a Communication Specialist who will be responsible for managing communication and knowledge for the EnABLE project.
Job Purpose
The Communication Specialist will design and implement effective and inclusive communication strategies, ensuring that project messages are accessible to all stakeholders, including Indigenous Peoples and women, while also supporting project knowledge management and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Communication and Knowledge Strategy
- Develop and implement communication and knowledge management strategies for the ERP and EnABLE programs.
- Prepare, review, and improve the quality of communication and knowledge products (training modules, policy briefs, technical guidelines, reports).
- Support the production and dissemination of project lessons learned and good practices.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports for donors and stakeholders.
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with government institutions, CSOs/NGOs, the private sector, and other partners.
- Collaborate with the GEDSI & IP Specialist and the Community Development Specialist in developing inclusive communication materials, including the use of local languages.
- Coordinate with the East Kalimantan Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo) in developing communication materials and guidelines.
- Facilitate trainings, Training of Trainers (ToT), and piloting of communication materials at the village level.
Expected Outputs
- Implemented communication and knowledge management strategies.
- High-quality and inclusive communication products.
- Capacity-building activities for staff and field facilitators.
- Documented lessons learned and reports to donors and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic communication planning for development, environmental, or social programs.
- Experience working in East Kalimantan is an advantage.
- Proven experience in multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Strong writing and editing skills for technical and communication documents.
- Proficiency in digital platforms, websites, and content management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
