Welcome to Adaptation Fund<\/strong> Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Adaptation Fund (AF) is an international financing institution that supports developing countries in implementing climate change adaptation actions. Since 2016, KEMITRAAN has served as the National Implementing Entity (NIE) and is the only non-profit organization in Indonesia accredited by the AF. This accreditation is the result of collaboration between the Adaptation Fund and the Directorate General of Climate Change Control of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (Dirjen PPI KLHK) as the Designated Authority (DA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEMITRAAN has been mandated as the National Implementing Entity (NIE) to channel and manage funds, as well as to supervise local organizations\u2014referred to as Executing Entities (EE)\u2014that carry out activities related to climate change adaptation issues in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2019, AF\u2013KEMITRAAN Batch 1 has collaborated with local government institutions and civil society in five provinces across Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate change has escalated into a global emergency that has threatened countless lives over the past three decades. Several studies indicate a projected global temperature increase of 2.7 degrees Celsius<\/strong> within this century. Such a rise by the end of the century would cause extensive damage to the planet and lead to a significant increase in natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Countries around the world, including Indonesia, have agreed to work together to reduce the impacts of climate change. One of the ways to do this is by implementing climate change adaptation programs in affected regions across Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objective<\/strong>s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective of the Adaptation Fund Program is to support the Government of Indonesia in reducing the impacts of climate change through a bottom-up, locally driven approach. The current program aims to enhance the adaptive capacity and role of Indonesian communities by strengthening economic resilience and sustainable livelihoods, social resilience, as well as ecosystem and landscape resilience. A collaborative and participatory approach is at the core of this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
