In 2006, KEMITRAAN, in collaboration with the Center for Population and Policy Studies at Gadjah Mada University, initiated the development of an instrument of Governance Assessment Survey to measure the performance of local governance.<\/p>\n

In 2007, KEMITRAAN launched the Partnership for Governance Index, which in 2012 evolved into the Indonesia Governance Index (IGI).
IGI measures the performance of local governance actors, which include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Political Office \u2013 those who hold power through electoral processes;<\/li>\n
  2. Bureaucracy \u2013 regional officials responsible for delivering public services;<\/li>\n
  3. Civil Society \u2013 actors engaged in empowerment and advocacy on public issues;<\/li>\n
  4. Business Community \u2013 groups contributing to local economic empowerment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    IGI uses six principles to measure local governance: participation, equity, transparency, accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness.<\/p>\n

    IGI approach has become a key reference in developing more sector-specific performance measurement tools, such as the Governance Index (ITK) of the Indonesian National Police in 2015, the Climate Resilience IGI in 2017, and the Evaluation of Regional Government Implementation (EPPD) by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2023.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
