Sustainable Governance Program

Eka Melisa has extensive experience in climate change, energy, and sustainable development, building on cross-sector collaborations with governments, donor agencies, and civil society organizations. In her strategic roles within the Indonesian government, she served as Deputy Chair of the Working Group on International Negotiations at the National Council on Climate Change and as Assistant Special Staff to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for international negotiations on climate change, energy, industry, and transportation.
Eka is also active as a member of the cross-ministerial and institutional team that developed various national climate policies, including the National Action Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction (RAN GRK), the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory, and the establishment of the REDD+ Management Agency (BP-REDD+). Prior to joining KEMITRAAN, she also served as an International Climate and Forest Advisor for WWF International, confirming her role in environmental advocacy at the global level.
A Chemical Engineering graduate from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Eka also holds a Master of Science in Energy Economics and Management from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia. Currently, as Co-Director of the Environment and Sustainable Governance Program at KEMITRAAN, Eka leads efforts to strengthen participatory and equitable environmental governance. With extensive technical and policy experience, she is a key figure in directing strategic programs that bridge the interests of communities, government, and the business world for sustainable development.
