Amendment of Law No.10/2008 on the legislative election of the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representative Council (DPD) and local council (DPRD), with a focus on pro and cons of majority vote issue has become an important discourse. The DPR considers the revision due to recent growing opinion that in fact some political parties have violated the article beforehand.

Yogyakarta, Partnership. Today’s corruption has adapted to the patterns of multi-party politics. Where corruption used to be focussed around a single executive power, now it has expanded to the legislature, according to the Sultan of Yogya, Hamengkubuwono X, at the Building a Progressive Corruption Eradication System Seminar.

Indonesia’s economy is at a crossroads, and oligarchic power is endemic down to local level; such opinions were shared during an expert roundtable discussion organized by the Partnership to evaluate the decade since 1998’s Reformasi. In addition to commemorating a decade of Reform, the event also marked other anniversaries such as 80 years since the Youth Pledge and the Centennial of National Awakening, in Jakarta (27/6).
