Taking up his role as Coordinator of the Governance Assessment Unit in 2007, Pak Malik has more than 10 years of teaching and educational management experience in the United States, and an extensive academic and professional net work in Indonesia and abroad. His recent academic/research interests include national identities, inter-group relations and conflicts, political decision making and democratic cultures.

“Assessment is important if we are serious about performance and accountability. This is also true for a system of governance. A Governance Assessment Index will allow us to assess to what degree a system of governance perform vis a vis good governance principles. In addition to the three clusters, GAU, hence, can perform an important and strategic function for the PGR as a whole.”
