Erna Witoelar

(Special Ambassador of the UN Millenium Development Goals, 2003 - 2007 & former Minister of Public Works) - Chairperson of the Partners)

Erna Witoelar was recently elected Chair of the Partners, the highest governing body of the Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia. She was the UN Special Ambassador for Millennium Development Goals in Asia and the Pacific, has served as the Indonesia Minister of Human Settlements and Regional Development, and served as commissioners of the UN Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor, the Earth Charter Commission, and Commission on Developing Countries and Global Changes.

Ms. Witoelar also serves on the boards of several Indonesian CSOs like the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation (KEHATI), The Foundation for Sustainable Development (YPB), and Friends of the Environment Fund (DML). She is currently chairing the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC), the Foundation for Local Governance Innovation (YIPD), and is co-chair of the Asia Pacific Water Forum (APWF). She was one of the founders of the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (WALHI) and the Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia, and has served as Presidents of both the Consumers International (IOCU) and the Indonesian Consumer Foundation (YLKI). Ms. Witoelar received her degree in Chemical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology, and completed post-graduate study in Human Ecology from the University of Indonesia.
